First of all, we congratulate prof Paul de Vos and prof Ellen Blaak for the approval by NWO of their project proposal. Four PhD students and one postdoc will perform research on “Defining carbohydrate formulations to steer gut microbiota and colonic fermentation processes to support metabolic, immune and mental health”. Sensus BV, Avebe, and Nutrition Sciences support the research at Maastricht University, Wageningen University, University Medical Center Groningen and University of Groningen. The CCC-managed research programme, CarboSupport, will start in Spring 2021.
